2026 Lexington Habitat Patch Kit Pilot Project

Spring orders gave us a good idea of where folks will be planting their Habitat Patch in Lexington and surrounding towns. For order until 29 October 2026, we have crafted several kits to fit soil moisture conditions and sun availability. Additionally, our participants told us they want either just native shrubs or native short trees and shrubs. Kits also contain native flower and grass plugs.

All plants will have a tag. All bare root trees and shrubs will be packed in wood shavings and wrapped in used craft paper leaf bags. No plastic pots! You will be emailed a site selection, site prep, planting and protection document when you place your order.

Flower and grass plugs will include a mix of:

Foxglove beardtongue Penstemon digitalis; Wild bergamot Monarda fistulosa; Narrow-leaved mountain mint Pycnanthemum tenuifolium; and Little bluestem Schizachyrium scoparium
