Description

The Brookline Mothers Out Front tree team has put together two kits for Fall 2026 delivery. There is a total of 25 plants in each kit. This kit has taller plants – more trees than shrubs. The Brookline Pocket Thicket kit has shorter trees and is mainly shrubs.

• Your trees will be ready in late October 2026.
• Plants will be packed in damp wood shavings and as bare roots. They will be wrapped in compostable kraft paper – typically cut down used leaf bags from the DPW piles! If not planted that day, they should be kept in a cool and shaded location. Garages are often ideal locations. Please also be mindful of rabbits, etc. If not planted within 48 hours, open the kraft wrapping and make sure that the root zone is still damp. 
• Each plant will have a tree tag attached. Each year, the tag should be checked for tightness and should be moved to smaller branches when necessary. 
• A printable list of kit contents will be provided so that home owners can keep track of the pocket forest and pass the data to the next home owner. 
• Your kit will also include instructions on site preparation – this will be emailed to you in the spring.
