Description
These trees and MOSTLY shrubs will provide you and the critters with some truly wild food. All should start producing within five years. This kit of 41 plants will fill out a 20 x 20 foot plot of land with three levels of trees and shrubs. This array can be spread out in a row to make plants more accessible for harvest. Mix the tree levels throughout with the understanding that levels 3 – 4 are accustomed to shade so tuck them in close to quickly build the soil web. Plant small shrubs like bearberry, blueberry and cranberry together.
NOTE: This kit has native, native cultivars and non-natives. This is a human food production kit!

Every kit comes with a tree tag for each tree and a notebook to bring your plans into the next generation or home owner. The notebook contains room for your planting map, notes about maintenance you’ve carried out and citizen science. Additionally, it includes information on: site choice and preparation; a planting guide; protection recommendations; water, mulch and pruning recommendations and notes; 1st year and longer-term management tips, and a list of trees that came with your kit including details on fruit/nut bearing, growth patterns and, if applicable, hedge management guidelines.
