Malus domestica | eating and cider apples

Description

We buy in rootstock and graft named scionwood from local orchards. Rootstock determines hardiness, height of the tree and the tree’s ability to grow a solid root system. The scionwood is the apple you’ll eat and does contribute to growth characteristics of the tree. We graft on standard rootstock so that the trees will have a healthy root system to manage the heat and rain events of the future.

Each tree is indicated as first or second year and is priced accordingly. Choose tree based on rootstock | scionwood preferences.

New England apple rootstock research out of UMass Amherst focuses on profitability for large plantings and can be used to make sound decisions in home applications.
