1 acre of trees nursery, LLC

Description

This is a modified version of the Brookline Mothers Out Front Native Pocket Thicket. There is a total of 25 plants in this kit. It has shorter trees and is mainly shrubs.

• Your trees will be ready the first week of November 2026.
• Plants will be packed in damp wood shavings and as bare roots. They will be wrapped in compostable kraft paper – typically cut down used leaf bags from the DPW piles! If not planted that day, they should be kept in a cool and shaded location. Garages are often ideal locations. Please also be mindful of rabbits, etc. If not planted within 48 hours, throughout the storage period, open the kraft wrapping and make sure that the root zone is still damp. 
• Each plant will have a tree tag attached. Each year, the tag should be checked for tightness and should be moved to smaller branches when necessary. 
• A printable list of kit contents will be provided so that home owners can keep track of the pocket forest and pass the data to the next home owner. 
• Your kit will also include instructions on site preparation – this will be emailed to you in the spring.
• Please make sure you consider the risk of rabbit, vole, rat, and damage and the possible need of individually protecting each tree or creating a fence. Each of these animals has a different approach to destruction!
