Contents of this kit will change yearly as stock is available. For 2025, we have 5 plants:

  • 1 – Red Oak (Quercus rubra)ย 
  • 1 – American Hazelnut (Corylus americana):ย A versatile shrub that provides edible nuts for wildlife and can tolerate a variety of light conditions.
  • 1 – Northern Bayberry (Morella pensylvanica):ย A semi-evergreen shrub that thrives in coastal conditions. It produces waxy berries that are a winter food source for birds.
  • 0 – Bottlebrush Buckeye (Aesculus parviflora): An extremely shade-tolerant shrub that produces beautiful white, bottlebrush-like flowers in June.
  • 1 – American Witchhazel (Hamamelis virginiana): Grows well in partial shade and tolerates a variety of soil conditions. It offers cheerful yellow flowers in the fall and provides habitat for native insects.
  • 0 – Mapleleaf Viburnum (Viburnum acerifolium): This shade-loving native shrub has maple-shaped leaves and produces flat-topped clusters of white flowers in spring.
  • 1 – Winterberry (Ilex verticillata): A deciduous holly that can grow in partial shade. Female plants produce stunning red berries in winter, but require a male plant nearby for pollination.
  • 0 – Virginia Sweetspire (Itea virginica): A remarkably adaptable shrub that handles both sun and shade, as well as wet or dry soil. It features fragrant, white flower clusters in the summer.
  • 0 – Arrowwood Viburnum (Viburnum dentatum): Features creamy white flower clusters in spring, followed by blue-black berries that are a food source for birds.ย
